Born in Athens Greece. Studied law and economics at the University of Athens and received his PhD in Economics in Berlin on the topic of ‘Sovereign risk and insolvency of states (1989); Worked mostly as advisor in projects funded by the European Union and the World Bank and joined GIZ in 2009. His assignments in 26 countires covered project management, risk management, social insurance, health financing, microfinance, microinsurance and lately climate finance issues at the policy design and supervision level. He is currently working as GIZ advisor for access to climate finance in the ‘Strengthening Climate Adaptation and Resilience’ (SAR) project in Pakistan.
